Meet Alison, Owner and Hairstylist at Good Folk Salon. With 11 years of experience, Alison is a versatile hairstylist who loves both cut and color equally, finding it hard to choose between the two.
What Alison loves most about doing hair is the human connection. Witnessing her guests love their hair and feel transformed is a rewarding experience for her. Specializing in hand-painting balayage and razor cutting, Alison excels in creating natural, low-maintenance looks. Her personal favorite cuts will always be bobs, both loose or structured. She also has a particular affinity for bangs, believing that everyone can wear some form of them!
On a personal note, Alison lives in Long Beach and has been married for 21 years and is a proud mother of three boys (practically men). Despite having a degree in accounting, she took a bold step at 32, going back to school to pursue a career as a hairstylist. It's a decision she has never regretted.
You can find Alison behind the chair on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Sundays but is in the salon most of the time.
Her music taste spans across the decades, with a love for anything from the '60s, soul, shoegaze, to indie. During her time off, Alison finds meditation in running and enjoys lifting weights. Family time is crucial, often spent going to concerts and dinners. A favorite pastime involves playing records while working on puzzles with anyone who is willing to join her.
Anna
HAIRSTYLIST / COLORIST
Meet Anna Landstrom, a creative and versatile hair stylist originally from Omaha, Nebraska. Anna's passion lies in crafting unique styles for her clients, showcasing her expertise in various cuts, colors, and styling. While she excels in coloring and medium to long haircuts, her well-rounded skills make her adept in all areas of hairstyling.
For Anna, the joy of doing hair comes from the creative process and witnessing the transformation of her clients' visions into reality. Beyond the scissors and colors, she values connecting with her clients, understanding their personalities, and ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience.
With four years of experience under her belt, Anna is comfortable working with all hair types, from thick to thin, long or short, and various textures. She embraces challenges and starts each session with a thorough consultation to ensure confidence in achieving hair goals.
Adding a touch of uniqueness, Anna brings her background as a dancer of 14 years into her hairstyling world. Even today, she continues to indulge in her love for dance by attending classes.

Lauren, originally from a small town in Northern California, is a well-rounded and proficient hairstylist with a passion for cut and color. With 7 years of experience, she excels in creating lived-in looks through various techniques, including balayage and foiling work.

When it comes to cutting, Natalie uses both scissors and razors, starting with wet hair and finishing with final touches on dry hair.

Currently in the assisting stage, Jenny is drawn to the art of sculpting and cutting hair, as well as working with color. Her enthusiasm for everything related to hair is evident, and she finds inspiration in how a hairstyle can not only transform one's outer appearance but also influence their inner confidence. Jenny is keen on learning and working with all hair textures, lengths, and determining the best products for each client's unique needs. She looks forward to making new connections and continuously improving her craft through learning new techniques.
Though she is just getting started in the industry, Jenny feels incredibly grateful to have found a group of people equally passionate about the world of hair. Her goal, once she completes her assisting phase, is to create effortlessly chic hairstyles that enhance the looks of all her future clients.
On a personal note, Jenny's love for travel stands out. Over the past couple of years, she has developed an obsession with the UK, having explored London, Scotland, and experienced the excitement of a football match in Liverpool during the holidays.

Jenny also has a keen interest in design, art, and fashion, adding a creative touch to her time off.
Meet Victoria Molina, a budding hair stylist from Buena Park, specializing in retro and alternative cuts and styles. Despite being in the industry for less than a year, Victoria has a deep passion for transforming her clients' hair into something they find more attractive and satisfying.
